I received my bachelor’s degree from the College of William & Mary, where I double majored in Psychology & Music. In addition, I am currently in the last year of my remote Art Therapy Master's program.
Where do you teach outside of Fairfax Collegiate?I taught art to middle schoolers at Wayside Charter Schools in Austin, Texas, and I was a long-term Kindergarten substitute at Annandale Terrace Elementary School in FCPS. I also have experience tutoring in several subjects and nannying for several different families.
How long have you been with Fairfax Collegiate?I started working as an instructor for Fairfax Collegiate when I was in college, in 2018. I primarily taught photography, writing, speech, and debate courses. For the past two summers, I have worked as a Location Director for the Reston and McLean sites.
What excites you about teaching and working with students?I love when students find ways to incorporate their unique interests and backgrounds into the learning experience! This is where the magic happens.
What are you looking forward to as a location director?I thoroughly enjoy getting a glimpse of what is being taught in each classroom during the day. Our instructors find creative ways to implement the curriculum, and I find their teaching styles to be very engaging. It is also wonderful to get to know the students each session!
Outside of work, what are some hobbies you enjoy?I like to engage in artistic activities, like magazine collaging, photography, videography, and painting. As a music lover, I spend a lot of time attending concerts as well!
