Where do you attend school and what activities are you involved in?

I attend George Mason University, majoring in Electrical Engineering. My academically focused extracurriculars from high school include National Ocean Sciences Bowl (NOSB).

What have your teaching opportunities been outside of Fairfax Collegiate?

I worked as an instructor at Mathnasium of Mount Vernon for over a year, and I worked as a learning assistant in a university math course at GMU for one semester.

What sort of experience have you had in the subject you’ll be teaching this summer?

Regarding robotics, I have taken multiple classes in object-oriented and procedural programming with both high- and low-level languages, embedded systems and hardware programming. Regarding Biomedical Engineering, I worked with the neural engineering lab at GMU and am very knowledgeable about brain-computer interfaces. Regarding math, I've taken university-level math courses covering everything from multivariable calculus, ordinary differential equations, statistics, and discrete math.

What excites you about teaching and working with students?

I hope to impart my students with the critical thinking skills and self-confidence that will help guide them throughout the rest of their lives, while discouraging rote memorization, and encouraging students to be confident in their answers and in their ability to apply what they've learned to solve difficult problems.

Outside of work, what are some hobbies you enjoy?

Primarily I enjoy creative writing.
